Peripheral Nerve Block Therapy

Peripheral Nerve Block therapy is a simple outpatient procedure performed to reduce pain to a specific area of the body. The procedure includes injection of special numbing medications into areas surrounding specific nerves in order to substantially reduce pain impulses. The arm and leg are the most common areas for a peripheral nerve block. Other areas include the head, neck, back, abdomen, and hip. Peripheral nerve blocks can also be used to treat severe pain. Pain relief varies per individual and can last several weeks or even longer.
